River Nene Fishing.


The Peterborough and District Angling Association (PDAA) is the fishing club that controls the fishing rights on the River Nene around Peterborough. The River Nene contains a variety of species of fish including, Barbel, Bleak, Bream, Carp, Chub, Dace, Eel, Gudgeon, Roach, Rudd, Perch, Pike, Tench, and Zander.


Golf - Elton Furz Golf Club.


This is situated just 6 miles west  of Peterborough and is one of the best courses in the region,  both challenging and enjoyable at all levels of golf. There is a clubhouse that serves home cooked breakfast & lunch from Tuesday to Sunday & a traditional carvery lunch on Sunday.



Peterborough's Thorpe Meadows' purpose built rowing lake is home to the Peterborough City Rowing Club. The club is open 7 days a week with different times allocated to Juniors, Men and Women's crews. The lake is used for beginners and coaching, the River Nene for regattas and long distance training.

Walking & Rambling.


The local countryside is criss crossed with many public foot paths and bridleways many of which follow the route of the River Nene. Bus walking is another way to get to see other local villages; simply hop on and off at each village and explore it and it's surrounding areas.



Peterborough Green Wheel is a series of cycle routes in and around the city and countryside over a mix of fine gravel and tarmac.  In addition, there are plenty of public paths eminating from Water Newton that one can access in order to enjoy the magic of the countryside around us.

Sibson Airfield.


Skydiving - UK Parachuting at Sibson airfield is a seven day a week year-round skydiving centre that has 30+ years of experience and a fantastic safety record.  Jumping out of an aircraft at 13,000 feet and plunging down to earth at speeds of over 120 mph is a breathtaking, heart-pounding kick of a lifetime. Do something extreme and extraordinary, for there’s no better thrill.


Flying - Peterborough Flying School are based at Sibson Airfield. We are  10 minutes away so are conveniently located for you to learn to fly at this school.
